OSRUI has pieced together this fabulous adult program for all levels of quilters. At Devorah we will explore ways to stitch together our creativity, spirituality, Jewish identity, and personal life stories into quilts that wrap us with warmth both physically and emotionally.
Professional quilting instructor Flo London and Rabbi Phyllis Sommer of Am Shalom in Glencoe, IL, will serve as our guides. OSRUI's beautiful Daniel M. Soref Education and Alumni Center, with a large, airy rotunda, and our dining hall (the "Chadar Ochel") will be used as studio and programming spaces. Participants will be housed in both the Daniel M. Soref Center, which features double rooms with private bath, and our newest building, the Nerenberg Family Center, which features double rooms with common washrooms a short walk down the hall. During our time together we will also celebrate Shabbat with song and prayer. And there will be plenty of opportunity to take quiet walks along the beach, explore quaint Oconomowoc, and just relax by the fireplace (not to mention that there are several fabulous quilt shops nearby).
The cost is $375 per person for rooms in the Daniel M. Soref Center with private bath. Rooms in the Nerenberg Family Center are $325 per person. Limited single rooms are available in either building for a $120 single supplement. Tuition includes lodging and all meals, Wednesday dinner through Sunday breakfast, as well as all programming.
